Dead Weight marks the first chapter in the Toronto's DROWN trilogy. Confronting feelings of bitter self-loathing, nihilism, and a deeply-rooted hatred for just about everything in one's life, this EP is simultaneously cathartic and down-right vitriolic.

Originally recorded only as demos, each chapter in the trilogy has been selected to be released as-is, capturing what both vocalist Kyle Anders and instrumentalist Evan Holly (both of Egregious Philbin) consider to be a raw sort of magic of the time, being the first musical endeavour the two laboured together on outside of their main project The Animist.
